This switch seems like average quality for a foreign-made product. it's not as good as American made, so perhaps buy an extra in case they don't last too long? I wired mine incorrectly the first time, removed the wires, and noticed that they go in much more loose the second time, so they're not designed for that. I managed to make it work securely anyway. You get what you pay for, I guess.IMPORTANT: This is a 3-speed, single-capacitor switch (wiring: position 1=wire #1, 2=2, 3=3), so will not work with dual-capacitor fans (the result will be strange behavior, like 2 very low speeds and one high speed, or speeds out-of-order). Open up your fan housing to see your current switch and all the wiring. Most of the wires going to your current switch will connect at the other end to a capacitor (various shapes); look at the markings on the capacitor to determine if it's got one or two capacitors (hopefully it'll have a diagram that shows one or two capacitor symbols -- parallel lines with numbers, typically in uf or microfarad units). It'd be nice if they add a packaging photo so you can tell before ordering it. ;)
