My husband installed it mostly by himself and with a little help from me. We already had the electrical box installed prior to purchase. We have had so many compliments on the look of this fan. We put white tape over the areas were the fixture attaches to the mounting plate at the top to cover up the screws/slots. We also removed the chrome decal in the center of the fan, which was not applied exactly centered and replaced it with another self-adhesive decal that we spray painted gold, making sure it was centered properly. The light is dimmable and also changes from warm to cool with the remote. The fan puts out a decent amount of air output and there are 3 fan speeds. Some of the photos make it look like it sits flush on the ceiling, but it does not. Check out the photo with the dimensions and you will see the bottom of the fan is about 7" from the ceiling. Even so, it still has a low profile compared to other ceiling fans. Yes, the light cover is made of opaque plastic, not glass, but it doesn't look cheap. We love it and recommend it.
