The Hayden #2795 is a SEVERE SERVICE Thermal Fan Clutch - It is ideal for the hottest desert climates, mountain driving, towing, heavy summer traffic, and other severe-duty requirements. Perfect for large sedans, motor homes and trucks, too !! Clutch engages when radiator air exit temperature reaches 170 F. Fan turns at 80-90% of shaft speed when engaged. Fan turns at 20-30% of shaft speed when DIS-engaged. Can be used with regular or deep-pitched fans. It features a "land&groove" design, with a HUGE 70 sq.in. of clutch area, which promotes positive engagement, cooler running, and a longer clutch life. Deep fins on both sides of the all-aluminum housing ensure maximum cooling. Thicker body and grooved face plate dissipate more heat for faster, smoother clutch response. Can be used in place of many "Heavy Duty" clutches for further improved performance. Summer trips through the Southwest deserts and the Rocky Mountains were easily handled -- with not the slightest indication of abnormal engine temperatures at high altitudes (10,400 ft.) or high ambient temperatures (110+F.).
